  1. Hi there,
Once again having problems posting a response. Wrote a lengthy one last night, only to have it disappear into the ether...
So glad to hear all is going well, though I am not surprised Marian that you need to sleep! Don't know where you get your energy.
I think you should turn this blog into a book, down the track. It is witty, insightful, and always entertaining. A positive read for all.
Just wanted to re-affirm that I thoroughly enjoyed Simon's lectures last semester in Knowledge Management..I think Jelina (? did I get that right?) will enjoy the subject, but will miss out on not having Simon there in the flesh. He is a great teacher (and I mean teacher..NOT lecturer!)
Will do what it takes to get this posted tonight...
Hope the overnight home-visits happen soon!
    regards,
    Jacquie.

  2. Don't over do it!! How many times must you be told? You are no good to the big man if you have run yourself into the ground. Take a rest, get more sleep and then come out fighting again. Bad girl!!!
Look after yourself, you are important to us all.

  3. Hi Marian

Do be careful to look after yourself as well as Simon...I notice someone mentioned turning the blog into a book - a terrific idea, and no doubt tremendously useful to other future sufferers. When I was with you I read one of Simon's books - an account by Charles Mingus' partner/wife of their years together especially the later years when he was confined to a wheelchair. It was very inspirational, although heartbreaking at times, and I'm sure a book based on this blog would prove really helpful. Look after yourself.

Once again, may I thank everyone for their kind thoughts and suggestions and many, many thanks David for those great audio books you sent to Simon...most thoughtful and kind of you.

    Love
    Shirley (Simon's Mum)

  4. Tuesday,
rang Simon and had a bit of a talk. A little difficult to understand. He kept bracketing time, as in 'tommorow, last week' or 'yesterday, last week'. We got through though.

    Wednesday
Suprise call from Simon at lunchtime. Clear, coherent and easy to understand. He wasn't sure who I was yesterday, but remembered today and rang to let me know. He wanted to do something 'more physical'. Now if thats not progress, I don't know what is. Well done mate!
